As a destination wedding photographer, there’s nothing quite like photographing couples in beautiful and unique locations around the world. When Kelly and Logan approached me about photographing their honeymoon photoshoot in Iceland, I was thrilled. Iceland is one of the most beautiful and awe-inspiring destinations in the world, and I knew that it would provide the perfect backdrop for their romantic photos.

The Top Locations to Photograph in Iceland

Our first stop was the Blue Lagoon, a natural geothermal spa located in a lava field in Grindavík. The milky blue waters of the lagoon created a dreamy atmosphere, and Kelly and Logan looked like they were in their own little world as they soaked in the warm water. one of Iceland’s most popular tourist attractions. The Blue Lagoon is a must-visit for anyone traveling to Iceland, and it made for some unforgettable photos.

The Lighthouse

Next, we headed to the Reykjanes Lighthouse, located on the western tip of the Reykjanes peninsula. The lighthouse was built in 1907 and has been guiding ships through the rugged Icelandic coastline ever since. The location offers a stunning view of the Atlantic Ocean, and the rocky coastline makes for a dramatic and beautiful setting for photos. Kelly and Logan were both dressed in white, which contrasted beautifully against the dark rocks and the vibrant blue of the sea.

The most fun part was to be able to just stop along the way. There are so many beautiful backdrops in Iceland that all you have to do is to stop your car on the side of the road (safely) and admire them. We found a few unlisted hidden spots as well that was a great addition to our plan.

The Cliffs

Our final destination was the Hafnarberg Sea Cliffs on the eastern coast of Iceland. The Hafnarberg Sea Cliffs rise over 70 meters above the sea, and the view is simply awe-inspiring. Kelly and Logan stood at the edge of the cliffs, looking out over the ocean, and the photos captured the beauty and grandeur of the Icelandic landscape. The rugged cliffs and the crashing waves made for some truly epic photos.

Throughout the photo shoot, I focused on capturing the beauty of Iceland and the love that Kelly and Logan share. As a destination wedding photographer, it’s important to me to capture not only the stunning landscapes but also the emotions and connections between the couple. I wanted to create photos that would transport Kelly and Logan back to this special time in their lives every time they looked at them.
